Birth: 1896 Tamworth, NSW, Australia Death: between 22-27 July 1916 (age 20) France, Killed in Action Cemetery or Memorial: Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France Father: Roger REEDY (b. Camden abt 1866 - 18 July 1919) Mother: Ann M (Annie) GUNN (1865 - 1947) Arthur enlisted 16 April 1915 at Liverpool. He gave his occupation as Bricklayer and his next of kin his mother Mrs Annie Reedy of Elizabeth Street, Croydon, Sydney. Arthur served in the 3rd Battalion A.I.F. He departed Sydney on the 'Karoola' 16 June 1915 and arrived Gallipoli August 1915. He arrived France via Mudros and England March 1916. His brother Roger Patrick Reedy (b. Camden 1891) served in the 7th Company Australian Army Service Corps A.I.F. at Gallipoli and in France and returned to Australia in 1918. His brother John Vincent REEDY (Private 3627 & 6886) was killed in action Belgium 25 October 1917. Private Arthur Ambrose REEDY was killed in action France between 22 and 27 July 1916 age 20. |
